Here are five common myths about diabetes, which many people believe to be true. Like all myths, none of these are based on fact.

1: You can catch diabetes from someone else.

This is not true! Diabetes is not contagious. Although there seems to be some genetic link in diabetes, lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise are also important risk factors for diabetics. The good news is that by making changes to their diet and increasing the level of their physical activity, people with pre-diabetes can prevent the development of type 2 diabetes.

2: Diabetics can’t eat sweets or chocolate.

Yes they can if they eaten as part of a healthy diet and or combined with exercise. The key point is having a healthy diet.

3: Eating too much sugar causes diabetes.

This is not true. Diabetes is caused by a combination of genetic and lifestyle factors. A healthy diet coupled with making simple lifestyle changes can help diabetics to manage their condition and improve their health. Being over weight increases the risk for developing diabetes.

4: People with diabetes should eat special diabetic food.

A healthy diet for diabetics is the same as that for everyone. A diabetic’s diet should be low in fat (especially saturated fat and trans-fats), moderate in salt and sugar, with meals based on whole grain foods, vegetables and fruit. Many dieticians recommend eating five portions of different fruits and vegetables a day.

5: Diabetic food should only contain small amounts of starchy foods.

Starchy foods are part of a healthy diet for diabetics, particularly when eaten in combination with compatible foods.

Now a day’s diabetes treatment has become a common disease among people. It is caused due to mismanagement of carbohydrate metabolism inside the body. Diabetes is identified with the excessive production of urine, hunger, thirst and excessive loss of weight, blurred vision, and delay in healing of skin, repeated infection, and excessive fatigue. Diabetes has got a serous issue of human health. It denotes sugar in blood and urine very excessively.

So, when it comes to treatment of diabetes the main concern should be given to control blood sugar, which is main cause of diabetes. Managing blood sugar is the stepping-stone of this diabetes treatment program. To remove the complications of diabetes one must take it seriously and adopt some good diet process or healthy exercise. Apart from doing so some take insulin and any other type of medication program to be cured to some extent. Frequent testing of blood sugar can denote you how much you have improved on your part to manage suitable measure of sugar in blood. It is very important to learn the right range of glucose in blood unless and until you cannot have the idea about the complication you are facing about this disease. It depends on age mainly such as in younger age assuming not much complication is there the suitable range of glucose is 80-120 mg/dL and in older age it is 100-140 mg/dL.

Diabetes program includes some specific self-treatments like having good and suitable diet, having proper exercise, maintaining healthy weight and medication. When it is about good and suitable diet it does not make any suggestion to take all dull food which are not of your interest rather it denotes to have more fruits, vegetables and grains that means you should be conscious in taking the foods of high nutrition and lower fat and calories. Avoid taking sweets and animal products with no limit. The main part of this diabetes treatment program is that you own self should be challenging in this task otherwise this program will be harder enough. Consult any dietitian about meal plan and try to maintain it at the fixed times every day with same amount according to your diet plan.

On the part of having proper exercise you should be cautious about all aerobic exercises. In this diabetes treatment program you can make your choices among the daily exercises like doing morning or evening walk, jogging, hiking, biking, swimming and any other exercises of heart and lungs. Remember giving consistency to your exercise process is very important to get the best result through it.

Try to maintain weight according to your activity level and age because overweight is dangerous factor which help to make your cells more resistant to insulin. Making suitable weight loss plan and going according to that can make its result more effectively. Sometimes medication takes a very important role in case where it is found that good dieting and exercise are not fulfilling it purpose.

Diabetes is a disorder that makes it difficult for us to metabolize sugar correctly. Glucose is a simple sugar that is the end result of the breakdown of sugar after our bodies metabolize it. The simple sugar glucose travels through our bloodstream and is snatched up by our cells and used as energy. The important vehicle that is used to move the glucose into our cells is called insulin a hormone. The insulin is made in the pancreas and it is used to shuttle glucose into our cells. In Type I diabetes, there is a malfunction with the pancreas and it produces little to none of the necessary insulin. Next, in Type II diabetes the body is producing insulin, but the cells are desensitized to it. In a nutshell, the cells are desensitized to it because of such a high level of blood sugar. In order to overcome diabetes an understanding of insulin and its vital role is most important.

Symptoms of Diabetes

Weakness and fatigue

Tingling and numbness in your hands, feet and legs

Blurred vision

Unquenchable

What Are Possible Methods For Relieving Symptoms Of Diabetes?

A few isolated nutrients have the possibility of relieving symptoms associated with diabetes. Because of recent research it is shown that these nutrients can possibly help us to maintain normal sugar levels and thereby allowing us to overcome diabetes. A few of these nutrients are listed below:

Bitter Melon Helps to stabilize blood sugar.

Fenugreek helps the body maintain healthy blood sugar.

Banaba leaf Stabilize blood sugar levels and lose weight

Cinnamon Helps balance blood sugar levels, by reducing insulin resistance. Increases normal energy levels and helps balance blood sugar levels.

Policosanol Improves LDL or bad cholesterol up to 29% it also regulates cholesterol levels.

The glucose remains in the blood instead of being utilized by body cells and tissues. The accumulation of glucose on blood leads to cellular fatigue. On the long run, the high levels of sugar in blood causes damage to nerves, heart and eyes. If left untreated, diabetes can cause severe problems like heart diseases, blindness, impotence (in men) and several other problems.

There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes, also known as juvenile diabetes affects children. There will be total lack of insulin production by pancreas gland.

Type 2 diabetes is the common type. It can be due to either lack of insulin production in the body or the inability of insulin to bind glucose in cells.

Prevention of Diabetes
There are different tips that you can observe to prevent or at least effectively control diabetes.

Include lot of fruits in your daily diet. Also include green and red-orange vegetables and pulses. Minimize intake of fatty or salty food items. Items to avoid include ice cream, chocolate and pastries.

Lead an active life. Be physically active a lot of time. Regular exercise program help you maintain good health and guard against diabetes.

Diabetes Treatment in Ayurveda
The main herbs and medicines used in the treatment of diabetes are bitter melon (bitter gourd – Momordica charantia), Neem (Azadirachta Indica), Shilajit (Asphaltum), Triphala [a combination of three herbs viz. amalaki (Indian gooseberry, Emblica officinalis), vibhitaki (Belleric Myrobalan, terminalia belerica) and haritaki (chebulic myrobalan, Terminalia chebula)], turmeric (curcuma longa or curcuma domestica), etc.

These form the main ingredients for medicines used in Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes.

Ayurvedic cure for diabetes is not just about taking medicines. It is also about balancing your lifestyle in a healthy manner and having a healthy lifestyle.
